 Facilities, especially healthcare facilities, are responsible for properly managing their plumbing systems to ensure that the risk of causing cases of Legionnaires' disease is reduced. CMS-certified healthcare facilities specifically are required to have a plan in place to do this. However, this task can be timely, facilities are already expected to do more with less, and there isn't much guidance accessible to fully grasp what is necessary to prevent Legionella. Moreover, facilities are unsure how to truly know how much risk their facility has unless they test; even so, many facilities lack the guidance to interpret and respond appropriately to positive test results when testing.

When our client is protected, Water Management Advisors is satisfied. Our aim is to help reduce Legionnaires' disease by assisting facilities in managing their Legionella. In our experience with managing varieties of sizes of healthcare facilities' plans in multiple states, we know that this process is not an easy nor quick fix. We also know each facility is unique in its own way. Therefore, each facility's plan takes time and attention to assess how to best manage the facility. 

After years of working with water management teams, we have found a process that makes the Legionella water management plan process much more manageable and efficient for the facility. Knowing the common struggles and obstacles of a healthcare facility with these plans, Water Management Advisors can guide a facility through "Our Proven Process" with the end result being a water management team that is confident in their ability to manage their facility's water systems to best reduce risk of Legionella. 

This process involves one day of an on-site visit to survey the facility's water systems. The information collected is then used to create a customized Legionella water management plan that includes the key components as outlined by CMS and the CDC. We utilize a program called LAMPS by HC Info to provide a reliable and defensible plan; LAMPS is a cloud-based platform specifically created to be in compliance with ASHRAE Standard 188 and CMS. 

The part that sets Water Management Advisors apart from others is that we don't just provide the facility a plan. Water Management Advisors acts as an advisor to the team even after the plan is turned over to the facility. We will train the facility's water management team on how to implement the plan, help to create documentation logs if needed, and attend the team's quarterly meetings to help the team stay on track with this large project. We help to provide best recommendations on verification and validation strategies, including Legionella testing. Education and training are very important to successfully reducing risk of Legionella in a facility's water system, and Water Management Advisors provides that support.
